Born in Madrid (Spain), end of 1978. Family roots in Andalusia, Valencia, Galicia, some Philippine descent.
Grew up singing and playing music in different styles.
Classical music studies at conservatory in Madrid; piano teacher diploma; jazz studies at Escuela de Música Creativa. Close contact with flamenco in Cádiz.
Unfinished Economics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Bachelor in Composition at Utrechts Conservatorium. 
Master Degree in Composition for the Stages, specialising in Advanced Rhythm at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
A few seasons spent in Java (Indonesia), moved back and forth to Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands. 
Some traveling, besides Europe, wherever music took me, e.g. Misiones (Paraguay, Argentina), Karnataka (India), Casamance (Senegal).

Nowadays I compose for diverse formats (concert, opera, dance, performance on location, etc.), assimilating the depth of different musical conceptions. 
My music reflects upon an authentic root enriched by active involvement in, amongst others, Javanese (Indonesia), Carnatic (India) and Arabic performing arts.

At the conservatories of Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht, I teach Advanced Rhythm for composers, classical performers and improvisors,  plus guest lectures elsewhere and coaching for performers (orchestras, ensembles).
Other fields of teaching include Tuning and Temperament, composition lessons.

Weekly we make music at Asylum Seeker Centres, facilitating the platform for refugee musicians MusicAZ@Utrecht, sponsored by the Utrecht municipality and Het Wilde Westen.

As a programme developer at Gaudeamus festival I design innovative cultural events, moderate debates, conduct seminars and interviews.

I play and compose for gamelan, give workshops and participate in Indonesian art events.

I provide advice on cultural policy and artistic development.

Locally we initiate creative community projects (schools, cultural centres, events in neighbourhoods), ranging all ages.
